Our Founder

Obinna Oriaku decided to become a doctor at age 13 after a near-death experience from childhood asthma. He understands the pain and fear that accompanies illness and now devotes his life to helping others on their health care (or health scare) journeys.
Dr. Oriaku is the Founder and CEO of Crown Clinic, a thriving primary care practice serving patients in southwest Charlotte since 2003. Over the years, he’s witnessed first-hand how inequalities in healthcare delivery disproportionately affect minority communities. He is passionate about bridging the gap in healthcare disparity and continues to explore new ways to harness technology for this purpose. Originally from Nigeria, he continues to support his family who lives there and created SocratesMD to help others do the same.
